Biography
Hi, my name is Katie!
I believe therapy is whatever my clients and I choose it to be together. I often tell clients that everyone I work with needs something a little different from me, and it is my role to collaborate with them to figure out what that is. I see myself as a teammate, walking alongside clients as they explore their experiences, grow, heal, and work toward the life they want. I consider it a privilege to hear the stories of others and to be a safe, supportive presence where clients can fully be themselves.
My Practice
I have experience working with clients of all ages, and I now focus primarily on working with teenagers and adults. While I enjoy supporting a wide range of clients, I am especially passionate about working with neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ individuals. I know how challenging it can be to find a therapist who truly affirms and embraces your identity, and I strive to be that kind of therapist for my clients. I also enjoy working with clients navigating trauma, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and identity development. For clients seeking gender affirming medical care, I am able to provide letters of support to help folks access the care they need and deserve.
I prioritize showing up as my authentic self, quirks and all. I believe in meeting clients where they are, whether that means diving in headfirst on day one or taking things slowly and building comfort over time. I focus on seeing clients as whole people and enjoy learning not only what brings someone to therapy, but who they are beyond that. Because I believe every client needs something a little different from me, I always begin by exploring what you want and need from the therapeutic relationship. I also love bringing humor and, if you are open to it, a little sarcasm into sessions. Therapy can be hard, but that does not mean it cannot also include laughter.
