Biography

Hi, my name is Doua Chee!

I value genuine connection and creating a space where you can talk openly about what is happening in your life without feeling judged. I’m especially passionate about working with children, teens, and young adults as they navigate emotions, relationships, identity, school or work stress, trauma, and major life transitions.

I also have a personal understanding of postpartum adjustment and how overwhelming that period can feel. That experience has shaped my appreciation for having compassionate, nonjudgmental support during seasons when life may look or feel very different than you expected.

For me, therapy isn’t about having all the answers for you. It’s about getting to know your experiences, helping you better understand yourself, and working alongside you as you decide what growth and change look like in your life.

My Practice

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and flexible. I want our sessions to feel like a place where we can be curious about what you’re experiencing, look more closely at patterns that may be affecting you, and identify what you would like to be different.

Depending on what brings you to therapy, I draw from trauma-focused, person-centered, psychodynamic, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approaches. That might mean exploring how past experiences are showing up in your life today, developing healthier ways of coping, gaining a better understanding of yourself, or working toward specific changes.

You can expect us to identify goals together and develop practical strategies you can use outside of therapy. When it feels useful, I may also give you something to practice or reflect on between sessions.

I provide therapy in both Hmong and English. My goal is for therapy to feel genuine, useful, and connected to what is actually happening in your life.

More About Doua Chee

When I’m Not in Session

I enjoy nature walks and staying active in the gym! I also am trying to get into baking, but my schedule has not really allowed me to get to it yet! I spend most of my time outside of work with my children and my partner, just going with the flow for now.
